Introduction

Hello! I'm Brianna Eloiza, a Journalism and Media Communications Major at NCC! I'm heavily involved on my college campus as a tour guide in the Office of Admissions, the Co-news Editor for our school newspaper, The Chronicle, the Marketing Chair for Cardinal Dance Company (our recreational dance group on campus), all between my frequent attendance at sporting events to cheer on the cardinals (soccer and volleyball being my favorites). I also just finished my first summer as an Orientation Leader and am continuing my work as a First-Year Mentor in a section of CARD 102 this semester. 

I really love film and television, and with my brief experience in performing arts through acting and dance and I am really excited to both watch and dissect films in more of a formal way within this blog.  I can't quite call myself a "movie buff", mostly because I haven't seen most of the so-called classics, but I can say that I try to watch a variety of types of film, so I am always willing to offer suggestions for all situations. 

One of my all-time favorite movies is 10 Things I Hate About You starring Julia Stiles and Heath Ledger. I've always been a sucker for a good 90's romcom but in my mind 10 Things can't be beat. Given that the film takes inspiration from the Shakespearean play "The Taming of the Shrew", I've always enjoyed the modern take of the film, the edgy feel of the color schemes and soundtrack, and of course, the acting. 

There are so many iconic quotes throughout the film that really tell you a lot about the relationship between the main characters (my personal favorite being Kat played by Stiles). On the outside Kat is kind of a loner and she seems to prefer it that way. But after she finally meets Patrick and begins to let her guard down we can see that she isn't as mean and heartless as she lets on. 

So enough said. If you haven't seen 10 Things I Hate About You before, I would highly suggest you do or you might miss out on one of the best romcoms ever :)
