The makings of "See-bastian"
"See-bastian" is a silent film that follows our main character, Sebastian, who meets Rose in the coffee shop of their college campus. Sebastian and Rose quickly become friends and start to spend a lot of time studying together in Pfieffer Hall, which just so happens to be the campus' most notoriously haunted building.
While they walk out of Pfieffer, Sebastian runs into his friends Alexa and asks her to take a photo of him and his new friend, Rose. Confused, Alexa reluctantly takes the photo anyway. When Alexa hands the phone back to Sebastian he is confused that he is the only visible person in the photo.
The film then covers flashbacks of all of the moments that Sebastian and Rose had spent together as Sebastian realizes that Rose is a ghost, or rather, a figment of his imagination.
Making "See-bastian" was a great experience. I really loved our group concept and the overall execution of the film. I think my group really managed to stick to the horror/mystery theme of the film fairly well while still maintaining the time limit. I was really inspired by the slight misdirection of "Get Out", which is an element I knew I wanted to incorporate into the film without being super obvious.
I also really liked the experience of being behind the camera rather than an actor on screen. Using the skills we've learned from the book was super eye opening.
